Tenerife is one of the easiest family holidays from the UK: flights take around four hours, it’s warm all year, and most of the big family resorts are 15 to 20 minutes from Tenerife South airport.
Quick answer: for most families, Costa Adeje is the best base, with calm beaches, Siam Park nearby and family hotels such as the Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife and Domes Baobab Suites. For an all-inclusive with its own water park, look at Bahia Principe Fantasia in Golf del Sur.

Tips for booking a family hotel in Tenerife
- Check the kids’ club ages: Age ranges and opening hours vary from hotel to hotel, so check them for your dates before you book.
- Book school holidays early: Family rooms and suites go first in the Easter, summer and October half-term holidays.
- Stay in the south: The south is sunnier and drier, and Costa Adeje is close to Siam Park and 15 to 20 minutes from Tenerife South airport.
- Compare board basis: All inclusive can work out cheaper with older children who eat and drink more, while half board leaves you free to eat out.
- Ask about heated pools: Tenerife is warm all year, but sea and pool temperatures drop in winter, so a heated pool is worth having from November to March.
