Visit Ibiza...

When you think of Ibiza it’s easy to imagine the vibrant nightlife but there is much more to this Mediterranean island. Forming part of the Balearic Islands off the south-east coast of Spain, Ibiza is also home to peaceful hillside villages where tourists can enjoy walks through pine forests and sunbathe on white-sandy beaches. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for the best preserved coastal fortress in the Mediterranean, along with countless monuments, a castle and cathedral, the island is a cultural and historical hub for tourists visiting from around the globe. Also known for its spectacular sunsets, it is a popular island for photographers hoping to get a snap of one of the legendary sunsets. A visit to Benirrás Beach on the northern coast of the island is well worth a visit to see the traditional drum down of the sunset every Sunday.

One of the most famous spa hotels on the island is Atzaró. With an open-air spa that offers signatures treatments using only the most luxurious skincare products, this is the ultimate hotel for a relaxing break. What’s even better is that its great location means it’s only half an hour from the airport and Ibiza town. If it’s a last-minute break you’re after to make the most of the nightlife in Ibiza Town, you can expect to find some great deals with a wide range of large resorts available. With most offering apartments featuring a balcony, when you are not out enjoying the nightclubs you can relax by the pool. Ibiza is also well-known to have some of the best yoga retreats in the world and with plenty to choose from tourists are guaranteed to return home feeling relaxed and at one. Booking a wellness yoga break at retreats including the Wild Heart High Spirit Retreat run by Supersoul Yoga, makes a wonderful break for guests to feel restored and nurtured. In between yoga classes in the Ibizan hills enjoy cookery classes learning new and tantalizing vegan recipes.

One of the most popular places to dine on the Island is Tapas Ibiza Restaurant & Lounge Bar with its eclectic range of tapas dishes all on small plates, meaning you can enjoy twice as many different flavours in one meal. If it’s dinner with a view you’re after, you are going to fall in love with Es Boldado, located on the cliff edge of the island overlooking the famous Es Vedrà rock. We recommend ordering one of the fish dishes on the menu and sit back to watch the sunset. When it comes to local produce, this may come as a surprise but Ibiza is starting to forge its way in the wine industry. Book yourself on a tasting tour to try some of the full-bodied wines and maybe even by one or two bottles to take home.

We couldn’t talk about what to do in Ibiza without mentioned the nightlife. If you’re new to the clubbing scene on the island you won’t want to miss out on a night at the legendary club Amnesia, or Nikki Beach, the place to be seen during the day and a great chance to catch some rays at the same time. For history, you can explore Dalt Vila, the 16th century bastions, or the islands impressive ramparts, dating from the renaissance era. A walk to the Punta d’es Moscarter lighthouse is also an afternoon well spent. For something a little more contemporary, you can even visit Ibiza’s very own Stonehenge! The semicircle of 13 basalt columns is an art installation created by Australian artist Andrew Rogers. At the end of the day if all you want to do is relax on the beach, you are spoilt for choice in Ibiza. One of the most popular beaches on the island is Platja de Ses Salines or if you would prefer somewhere a little quieter, head to the sandy cove of Cala Mastella.

The Ibiza summer season starts in May when the island comes alive with opening parties. The party season continues throughout the summer, right up until mid-October, with the busiest month being August. The Mediterranean climate on the island means temperatures remain mild throughout the year and although the autumn and winter season is quieter for those of you not interested in the nightlife and looking to avoid the crowds, the typical humid weather means you will likely see rain during your break.
